Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ryke.ai (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our SMS- and iMessage-based AI coaching service. By using Ryke.ai you consent to the practices described below.

You provide during onboarding: name, phone number, email address, age, height, weight, dietary restrictions, health conditions, injuries, coaching focus and goals, calorie-tracking preferences, and payment information.

You provide through messaging: the contents of every text or iMessage you send (including any photos of food, body composition, or workouts that you choose to attach). Messages are stored so the AI can maintain coaching context across conversations.

We collect automatically: message delivery status, timestamps, and the carrier or messaging service used (SMS vs. iMessage). We do not track your physical location, browse other apps, or collect data from any device sensor.

When you submit your phone number during onboarding, you opt in to receive recurring messages from Ryke.ai. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with, sold to, or otherwise transferred to any third party for promotional or marketing purposes. Opt-in data may be shared only with subprocessors that operate the messaging service on our behalf (Twilio and SendBlue) and only for the purpose of delivering your messages.

Reply STOP to any Ryke.ai message at any time to withdraw consent and stop further messages. Reply HELP for support.

We use the information you provide to: (a) generate personalized coaching responses through large language models; (b) deliver scheduled check-ins and reminders you have requested; (c) detect crisis or safety signals so we can route appropriately; (d) process subscription payments; (e) provide customer support; (f) improve the quality and safety of the service through aggregate, de-identified analysis.

Your messages, profile, and any attached images are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for inference. We have configured the integration so that your data is not used to train Anthropic’s foundation models. Aggregate token counts and message metadata are retained for operational monitoring.

We share information only with the following subprocessors, each contractually bound to protect your data:

• Anthropic — AI inference (Claude family of models)
• Twilio — SMS delivery and inbound messaging
• SendBlue — iMessage delivery and inbound messaging
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
• Render — backend hosting and database
• Vercel — frontend hosting

We retain your message history and profile for as long as your account is active and for up to 90 days after cancellation, after which messages are permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time by emailing support@rykeai.com. Payment records are retained for seven (7) years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.

Subject to applicable law (including GDPR for EU residents and CCPA/CPRA for California residents), you have the right to: (a) request a copy of the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your information; (d) withdraw consent to messaging at any time by replying STOP. Personal information is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to a small number of authorized engineers under MFA. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Ryke.ai is not intended for users under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Ryke.ai is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the service you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or SMS at least seven (7) days before taking effect.
